I — The Vessel
The Orca Mist is a custom built 30′ × 10.2′ aluminum cabin cruiser, built in 2000. Nothing fancy about her — she is a fishing boat, set up to be dry, warm and quick, with a deck big enough to fight a fish properly.
A custom built 30′ × 10.2′ aluminum cabin cruiser, built in 2000 for exactly this coast.
A 383 fuel injected Mercury engine — enough motor to get out and back without a long day of running.
A minimum speed of 27 mph, so the time is spent fishing rather than travelling.
A 10′ × 10.2′ spacious fishing deck — room to work a rod without standing on anybody.
A heated cabin and a stand-up head (toilet). On the North Coast, both matter.
State of the art electronics and safety equipment aboard, and the boat is Department of Transport approved.

Stock photo II — The Skipper
Steve has been guiding out of Prince Rupert for more than 35 years. The boat you book is the boat he runs, and the voice on the phone is the one on the wheel.
Thirty-five years on one stretch of coast is worth more than any electronics package. It is knowing which corner was producing last week, and where to be on Thursday’s tide.
“When you step aboard the Orca Mist, you aren’t just hiring a boat — you’re getting 35 years of North Coast experience.”
